Fred Nichols' Response to Letters to the Editor
HISTORY
OR A RAY OF SUNSHINE?
I have read the articles written by Mrs. Fardelman and Mr. Dockwell. I wasn’t
even going to respond to more poison pen letters of the few of Windham; however
I would like to say the deceit and discontent by a few will not help our
community. Yes, I suppose there is gratification for some to keep the pot
stirred. History in this community has left a bad taste in a lot of our
residents’ mouths. It has been due to the half truths, rumors and personal
vendettas of the same few.
It is not about the Supervisors and Department 19. That has been settled in
court. It is not about Department 28 and Department 19 either. We should be
looking forward to the future of Windham. How do we grow together in our
endeavors as a team and not as a joke to our community and to the rest of
Bradford County?
We need to look at sound leadership in our governing body, as well as in our
various organizations. We have to take that step to put our hands out to each
other without fear of having them chopped off or ridiculed because we tried.
Yes, we will probably make some mistakes along the way but should not lose sight
of our goal to be an honest and helpful community.
Let ‘s work on things like FINANCIAL STABILITY, GOOD ROADS, BETTER EMERGENCY
SERVICES and being more responsible for what we say and do. I’m
convinced that these things can be accomplished through the residents of
Windham. These ideas may seem impossible to some and too much of a goal for
others, but we can do it by pulling together and setting personal differences
aside.
We need to BRING DOWN OUR DEBT LOAD and CONTROL OUR TAX LOAD. This is not an
impossible task. We need to put forth a sincere effort to accomplish this. It
can be done.
We need to PUT AND END TO THE RUMOR MILL as well. If it doesn’t come from the
horse’s mouth then you need to talk to the horse to find out what is really
true.......
**NO TRUTH TO THE RUMOR that Larry Brown would be fired if Fred Nichols gets
into office.
**NO, he does not plan to get rid of the secretary or her husband.
**NO, Fred does not want to get rid of the Hall Committee.
**YES!! He does plan to improve the roads.
**YES!! Fred does want business done in the public eye .... he is for open
government.
**YES!! He will listen to all the people of Windham.
**YES!! He does care what happens to you and your families.
A vote for Fred Nichols will be that ray of sunshine that is truly needed in
Windham. Please show your continued support at the polls on November 6.
Thank you,
Fred Nichols, Candidate for Windham Supervisor
